to scoff at something 비웃다. 우습게보다
To show that you don’t like it and you
think it’s ridiculous.
So when you’re telling somebody something. And
that person scoffs at what you’re saying. How do you feel? Yes. You feel pretty
bad. So many times we use this expression “Don’t scoff at me.”
A: What do you think of my new suit?
B: Tsk~
A: Don’t scoff at this! It cost $500!
B: What? It looks like it’s from the dollar
store!
A: 내 새 옷 어때?
B: 에게~
A: 비웃지마! 500달러나
줬다고!
B: 뭐라고? 몇 달러
하는 상점에서 산 거 같은데!
